FAQ's
Brokers and dealers failed to disclose they were earning commission from lenders. This happened in three ways:
- 1. DCA Model – Broker/dealer set a higher interest rate to increase their commission.
- 2. Half-Secret Commission – Commission was mentioned in paperwork, but the amount was not disclosed.
- 3. Fully Secret Commission – No mention of commission at all.
All three cases could mean you're owed compensation!
We will do a soft credit check to identify if you've taken out a PCP agreement since 2009.
If we find any agreements, we will then check with your lender(s) to see if any unfair commission was added. If it was, we'll get your compensation back for you if the FCA gives the green light for claims!
The FCA's projected average PCP claim is around £1,100 (plus interest). We estimate this to total around £1800 per claim.
So with an expected two claims per client, you could be owed up to £3600 or more!
We're still waiting for a final decision, but here's what's happening:
- - The Supreme Court is currently reviewing three test cases to decide whether commissions should be repaid. A ruling is expected by May or June.
- - At the same time, the FCA is set to announce details of the redress scheme around May.
- - Lenders are expected to respond in December, but that date could change.
- - If all goes as planned, redress payments should start early next year.
We'll keep you updated as things progress!
Car finance claims are looking very promising.
- - The Supreme Court is currently reviewing three test cases, with a decision expected by May or June. If they uphold the ruling, 100% of affected customers will be entitled to repayment.
- - The FCA is also set to announce a redress scheme around May, which will outline how repayments will be handled.
- - Lenders are expected to respond in December, and if all goes to plan, redress payments should start early next year.
As long as the Supreme Court confirms the decision, success is guaranteed for everyone impacted. This could be one of the biggest financial redress schemes in history!

If everything goes as expected, payments should start arriving in early 2026.
- - The Supreme Court is set to rule on key test cases by May or June 2025. If they decide in favour of claimants, lenders will be required to repay affected customers.
- - The FCA is expected to announce the redress scheme around the same time, outlining how repayments will work.
- - Lenders are due to respond in December 2025, though this timeline could shift.
As long as the Supreme Court upholds the decision and the FCA finalises the redress scheme, payments should be received in early 2026. We'll keep you updated on any changes!
Most car finance claims date back to 2009 or later.
- - While some suggest claims could go as far back as 2007, the reality is that PCP finance agreements—which are at the centre of these claims—weren't widely used until 2009/2010.
- - If your agreement was before 2009, it's unlikely you'll have a valid claim, as these types of finance deals weren't common before then.
If you're unsure, it's worth doing our free check to see you're eligible!
Yes, you may still be able to make a PCP claim, even if the lender is no longer in business.
- - Either the lender or the broker (car dealership) must still be operating, as both can be held responsible for mis-sold finance agreements.
- - If one of them is still trading, you may have a valid claim.
- - If both have ceased trading, it's unlikely a claim can be pursued.
If you're unsure, it's worth checking with a claims specialist (like us) to see if you qualify!
No, you don't need your original car finance paperwork to make a PCP claim.
- - We can run a soft credit check to find the name of your lender and your agreement number.
- - This won't affect your credit score and allows us to track down the details needed for your claim.
So even if you've lost your paperwork, you can still check if you're owed money!
There's no strict time limit for making a PCP claim, as long as your agreement was taken out after 2009.
- - Since PCP finance deals weren't widely used before then, claims typically apply to agreements from 2009 onwards.
- - Even if your finance deal was several years ago, you may still be eligible for compensation.
If you're unsure, it's worth checking—there's no harm in seeing if you're owed money!
